Do it for Zander! Cancel Childhood Cancer
Join us in honoring and remembering Zander on his birthday!
ZANDER'S STORY
Zander was 12 when he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a rare type of brain cancer. He passed away on December 3rd, 2021, at age 13, after a year-long battle with cancer. He didn’t go mountain biking with his buddies last summer because he spent most of 2021 in the hospital or in bed, too weak from chemotherapy! He didn’t go to freshman orientation night in March! He won’t go on his 8th grade trip to DC and Boston in June! He won’t get the chance to become the great soccer player he dreamed of being when he grew up! He spent his last Christmas in the hospital recovering from brain surgery! He kept hoping that the doctors and the cancer treatment he so bravely endured for ten months would cure him, but it didn’t.
In spite of it all, Zander maintained a positive spirit till the end. He never stopped smiling! He never stopped hoping!
Our family is walking 14 kilometers a day for 3 days, April 21-24, to celebrate Zander and his twin brother’s 14th birthday on April 24. In addition, Zander's mom is walking 350km in the months of April and May; 1 km for each day that Zander lived with a cancer diagnosis. Help us honor Zander and his brave fight against cancer by giving $14 or more to help find a cure for childhood brain cancer. Together we can change the story of the boy or girl coming after him who must walk the awful road of childhood cancer. We’re partnering with the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation to fund research to improve treatment for medulloblastoma, the type of tumor that took Zander’s life. Our goal is to raise $14000. We need 1000 donors to help us get there! Will you consider being one of the 1000 people to help us cancel childhood brain cancer? Every $14 will get us closer to a cure and give another family hope!
