Carson Bailey Memorial Scholarship

Make a difference in the lives of brain tumor survivors and their siblings by donating to the Carson Bailey Scholarship Fund.

Since the founding of the Carson Bailey Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Bailey Family has awarded six $1000 scholarships as a result of the generous donations to Carson's Memorial Fund. We look forward to continuing to provide these opportunities to survivors and siblings and thank you for your support!

Carson was only 5 years old when he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. He fought for over a year and beat cancer. Then for seven years Carson healed and lived his life. He was a hardworking, straight A student and member of the National Junior Honor Society. He also loved Transformers, Disney, cartoons, chicken tenders, french fries and most importantly spending time with his sister, cousins and entire family.

In November 2020 during a routine brain MRI, there were unexpected changes, the first changes in almost 7 years. The radiation that had previously saved Carson's life now harmed his brain. Carson had radiation necrosis.

Near the end of August 2021, Carson started to have physical symptoms related to the necrosis. He attended the first 7 days of his 8th grade year before his balance became too unstable to attend school in person anymore. He continued to complete all of his school work from home while enduring treatment for the necrosis. Unfortunately, Carson had the worst case of radiation necrosis his doctors had ever seen and none of the treatments worked. Carson fought with cooperation, a positive attitude, and determination until the necrosis sadly took his life on April 18, 2022.

Carson persevered through many challenges in his young life, yet kept smiling. He made other people smile with his knock-knock jokes, witty comments, and his simple, yet direct way of saying things. Carsonโ€™s zest for life could brighten any day and he touched the lives of everyone around him. He left this world and all who loved him way too soon.

Carson had plans for his future, which included attending college. To honor him and the education he desired, we want to support brain tumor survivors and their siblings to attend college. We are partnering with the Childrenโ€™s Brain Tumor Foundation to make this happen! Please help us honor and remember Carson by donating to the Carson Bailey Scholarship!!
