On December 30th, 2022, my niece Mackenzie was diagnosed with a Pilocytic Astrocytoma brain tumor. Thankfully, Mackenzie’s tumor was benign and after two successful brain surgeries was fully removed.
This year I will be running the NYC Marathon on behalf of The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation in honor of Mackenzie. The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundations mission is to improve the treatment, quality of life, and the long-term outlook for children with brain tumors through research support, education, and advocacy to families and survivors.
After seeing the stress and pain my sister went through when learning of Mackenzie’s diagnosis, I couldn’t think of a more meaningful charity to run for. I am so thankful that I get to run in Mackenzie’s honor, however, I realize not all families are as lucky as we were. I am asking you to please support me in donating to this incredible charity!
