On 5/10/2010, Mia's battle began. The Diaz-Dede family lives changed forever. Mother's day would take on a new meaning. Medulloblastoma- Cancerous Brain Tumor, would now be the metaphor for a holiday which has been assigned to be a warm, loving one. Cynthia, began what she would define as her new journey as a medical researcher and holistic healer. Kyle, had to grow up a little faster. Nana, took on the parental role of dad and aged like a grandpa in the process. Cynthia's lifelong fear of losing her princess began.

Mia became obsessed with baby dolls.

Medical providers reported the likelihood of fertility and reproduction would be low given the high dosage of chemotherapy. Cynthia felt the worst pain ever in her soul.

During this journey Cynthia met the most amazing and selfless children and parents ever.

She witnessed a child transition and attended more children funerals then she would ever imagined.

Strength comes in the smallest packages. No matter how bad things get, they could be far worst.

Money truly isn't everything; great health insurance is just as valuable.

The Diaz-Dede family gained lifelong friends; solidified existing ones.

Cynthia learned what truly matters in life. She now has daily reminders to be that. She is one of the luckiest mom's in the world. She will be forever indebted to the great people and organizations that found her and helped Mia and her family.

MIA is a WARRIOR.

CANCER SUCKS.

We humbly ask for your support, share and assist us in reaching our goal for this wonderful cause.

Walk, Stroll, Roll, Wag!

The Children's Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) is the nation’s leader in quality of life programs for children and families affected by brain and spinal tumors. We are asking some of our key partners to rally their friends, family, and networks to support CBTF's important work. By supporting a Family & Friends Walk Team, you will have a direct impact on children diagnosed with brain and spinal tumors and their families.

All of the funds raised will support CBTF programming that has helped thousands of survivors and families. Your efforts can help us reach thousands more. CBTF is committed to improving the treatment, quality of life, and long-term outlook for children and families affected by a brain or spinal cord tumor. We want to make sure that no family goes through this journey alone.
