Most of you know my story… those of you who knew me as a kid, know that I never ran… I liked swimming but I really was a drama and music kid. Diana and George were the athletes in our family.
I started running a little a few months before Diana got sick. After we lost her to brain cancer… I had to find a way to honor her memory. I decided to do 43 races in her memory. At first I was walking them. Then, I started running more. And, then… 2020… I joined a virtual run called OneNY and really started running.
I’ve done 10k races, half marathons, trail races and some ultras… but I really want to complete a full marathon. I signed up for one in 2022, but got COVID and had some other pretty bad personal things happen. Then signed up again last year and screwed up my training again and came down with COVID a month before the race. But… this year is my year… this year, Diana would have been 50. Brain cancer took that from us. I am going to show brain cancer that I’m stronger than that! Diana was so strong. She ran for so long … she was dizzy from the tumors growing in her head.. but she ran to show her daughter what a strong woman looked like. I’m running for Diana and Neva. Please help me hit this goal!
