Support Children's Brain Tumor Foundation and Sydney’s Chicago Marathon run!

Hi friends & family! I am beyond excited to say I am taking on another 26.2 mile journey in Chicago this fall as a part of the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) Endurance Team! I was so inspired by all the generosity and support I received during my last fundraising period for the NYC Marathon that I knew I had to do it again if given the chance, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting organization to have given me this opportunity. As many of you may know, I work closely with brain tumor patients and their families in my career as a neurosurgery OR and previously neuro ICU nurse. I’ve seen first hand the effects brain tumors have on people’s lives, so I know how truly valuable the efforts of foundations such as CBTF are, and I am so glad to have found this avenue of providing support outside of just my work. I’m incredibly grateful to play even a small role in these patients’ journeys, as their strength and resilience has inspired me immensely in both my career and marathon training.

Here’s a little insight on CBTF :)For over a decade, CBTF has been a national leader in providing programs for families affected by brain tumors. In its 35 years, CBTF has transformed from a local New York organization that offered families access to information and peer support into a national entity that delivers unique programs to support families throughout their brain tumor journey. As the founders of the Children’s Brain Tumor Network, CBTF believes that collaboration is crucial in the pursuit of a cure and in addressing the often devastating long-term effects of brain tumor treatment.
