Lena’s Story: A Journey of Strength and Hope
At just one year old, my daughter Lena was diagnosed with a brain tumor—an unimaginable reality for any parent to face. Now 11 years old, Lena still lives with that tumor. Over the past decade, her life has been filled with countless hospital visits, MRIs, and surgeries. Yet through it all, one thing has never changed: her smile.
Lena is a true fighter. No matter the pain, the needles, the uncertainty—she faces it all with courage and grace. Her strength humbles me every day. She teaches everyone around her what it means to be brave, and what it means to never give up.
This year, in honor of Lena and all the children like her, I am participating in the Long Island Family Walk for the Cure. I’m walking to raise awareness and support for the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF)—a cause that is very close to my heart.
For over 35 years, CBTF has provided critical support to families like mine, helping us navigate the challenges of this diagnosis with compassion, resources, and a strong sense of community. What started as a local New York organization has become a national leader in supporting children and families through every stage of their brain tumor journey.
Your donation will help CBTF continue their essential work—offering emotional support, peer connections, educational programs, and funding research through the Children’s Brain Tumor Network. Together, we can stand behind children like Lena and move one step closer to a cure.
Please consider making a donation today. Every dollar brings hope to families and makes a real difference in the lives of children who deserve the chance to just be kids.
Thank you for supporting Lena, and for standing with all the little warriors who inspire us every day.
